Tid-Bits

My last blog was a very long time ago! No excuses here except that this semester, I can honestly say, is the toughest yet! However, I see the remainder of the classes I need to take to graduate and they look like fun (and simplicity)... but I don't want to jinx it. So here are some of the highlights (as Jim calls them) of what's been going on in my life since my last blog.

  • Typical school work piling high but it's beginning to level off
  • Packers won yesterday! woot!
  • Jim's having a 30th birthday party in his hall's lobby! That will definitely be a fun time!
  • My dad gave me some baby pics of he and I... I hope it was just for the nice gesture but I still can't help but feel that I'm hurting them in someway by getting married
  • Solved the religion problem that has plagued me for most of my life
  • My car will soon be seeing my driveway (storage) for the winter... wahh
  • I finished my gigantic 3.5' puzzle... it's still taking up the better corner of my office
  • Matt joined the army and is going away to Missouri to train and take classes to become a military police officer
  • Nelson Hall is selling Puppy Chow tonight!!! SWEET!
  • I'm improving on Guitar Hero! Yay! (I get so frustrated but it's soooo much fun!)
  • Robby turned 17! He's getting so big! lol
  • Wedding plans going very very well! Next up is the flourist, dresses, and makeup!
  • Jim leaves for his conference in FL this month, that will be great for him! I'm looking forward to see what he thinks after he's back
  • 6 more weeks of the semester... Halleh Luya! (totally spelled that wrong!)
Wedding update: 228 (officially) days until the wedding! Woot!!!! That seems so close! I'd better get crackn'.

Beano

Today in chem lab, my group performed an experiement we had designed a week ago to find out if the gas/bloating reliever Beano really does work. We tested it in two different ways, one to simulate the human stomach and the other, the small intestine. We waited for twenty minutes after adding the Beano to a Raffinose and Hydrochloric acid solution to see if it would neutralize the acid. Nope, not in the stomach, but maybe in the small intestine. We repeated the experiment causing the simulation to be a little less acidic and took a final reading after, again, twenty minutes. Still no change. The result: Beano does not work... unless you soak your food in it for twenty minutes and then take it while eating... then it may work! :) Otherwise school and wedding plans are both going well!

:) I may be buying myself a new winter coat too! Hopefully I can afford it, if not, I'll be cold again this winter! :) Until next time!
