Ponderings...
As much as I would like to say that technology has helped us... it still has not made my life any easier! Maybe I'm old fashioned, but I would take paper and pencil anytime compared to learning everything about a program just to have it crash or not work for me just a few minutes before something urgent is needed.
In a past post, I have talked about repatriations (which I'm sure I spelled wrong again!) and how I think they are obsurd in this day of age. In a recent conversation with my boyfriend, the subject was brought up refrencing a book he had just finished reading. I offered my opinion. I said that the grudges, revenges, and pay-backs that our country has still insisted on relying on is only keeping our society from driving forward positively. It's as though this country is bent on bringing the past up with the present. This is why black people still dislike white people, and because of the black person's demand for repayment, white people hate black people. I mean, common' people, we should historically be beyond this point already!
School is going well and so is my job. There are only a few issues in my life right now that are causing havoc. First is that I have an absolutely horrid time remembering names, and, sadly, my job demands me to know everyone... including her name. Secondly, I have a rather irritating writing assignment in my advanced composition class. It requires us to immitate famous writer's work. I like how I write and while some may think this is helpful, it is actually rather frustrating! Finally, I was put into a jazz combo where there were two of us playing tenor and one alto... no drummer, a bassist, and a pianist. Well, our 'fearless leader' who was appointed by Dr. Marty Robinson himself, decided not to show up to rehearsals for a month. Since we had no drummer and the other tenor player could play, he was cool enough to begin playing drums. Then Marty gives us another drummer... no problem, they just decide which songs they're playing. Well, the problem comes when after we have everything situated and everyone knows what they're doing, our 'fearless leader' returns and decides to pick up where he left off. Not an option for me. I admit, I had steam spouting out from my ears! And then he had the audacity to say that he was busy with important things... we were too, but we made time! Okay, so I'm whining, but wouldn't you! We have two more rehearsals before our concert! I sometimes think that Marty set us up for failure and embarrassment.
Lastly, I just wanted to announce that Jim is now done with Fletcher Hall!!!
Thanks for reading and tune in next time to Pint-Sized Posts!
